All went well last weekend. There were members and potential new members from all over Florida and South Georgia.
Education, information, networking, spinning demonstration, good food and best of all rain. We got one inch in about an hour. Not a complaint from anyone. “I hope it is raining at our place.” was the common refrain.
We all grabbed chairs, loaded the ready and waiting trailer and took them to the house that Phil and Fran are building. The downstairs is unfinished but completely open. Work lights were set up and the speaker, Jed Dillard of Jefferson County Extension, took up his presentation without a hitch.
A spinning wheel was brought out and wool demonstration continued on the front porch while folks waited for the storm to subside enough to get to cars for the trip home. Now we’re getting ready for the Mayhaw Berry Harvest Festival this coming weekend.
