Rick Harter, a fellow rancher here in Monticello is having a Pork Festival on Saturday. They’ll have a farm tour, free samples and other good times! Heavenly Homestead grows clean and delicious food that is produced in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner. They raise poultry for meat and eggs, and happy, hormone-free pigs for pork.
The ranch is at 233 Murmuring Creek Road, Monticello, Florida. They have a website now, www.heavenlyhomestead.com, and you can sign up for their newsletter. Stop by and get to know your local producer on a (hopefully) fine Spring afternoon.
