New Leaf Market Tour Saturday, October 15 & Sunday, October 16

Written by: Bobbie
September 13, 2011

SOLD

Yes we will be open both days. The brochure seems to indicate we are open only on Saturday. Not so. We will be here and available SUNDAY if you cannot make it on Saturday.

Gerry & Carmen Zengel will be here with their Wood Carvings and Hand Crafted Originals. Both are talented artists and have been here every year.

Penny Kuhl will be on hand with persimmons and chestnuts again this year. She and her helper came last year and sold out. I just picked naturally grown Muscadine Grapes from their U-Pick to make our grape jelly. Sorry grapes are gone now.

Barnhart Farms with their fruits and vegetables came during the Mayhaw Festival and said they would be here for the tour. They always have a big selection. I’ll check and see if they can bring pumpkins.

Mayhaw Jelly making demo. Did I tell you that David Ward will be here for his famous jelly making class. We have frozen berries still on hand and David will make up some juice ahead of time so he can show you how to make jelly the old-fashioned way – without pectin.

We , Golden Acres Ranch, LLC, will have plenty of lamb and goat cuts available then as well as all the jams and jellies.

Pan-Handlers will be conducting cooking classes on Saturday only at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. We’ll need you to register for this. No charge. We just need to know for seating and sampling.

Camellia Garden Circle will be here with their Atlas Garden Gloves. This is the ideal glove for the serious gardener. The profit is used to support the Jefferson County Extension 4-H Camp program. We sent two children again this year and hope to continue with this meaningful endeavor.
