Whole lambs for sale | Yes, we’ll make it again this week with Lamb, Goat, Jelly and Jam and some Cranberry Sauce for the holidays.

Full Moon Apiary will be with us with their full line of honey and wax products. Becky was bitten by a spider (?) last week and is not fully recovered, but her daughter Katherine will be on site to answer all your bee related questions. Katherine is a Master Beekeeper. She has been handling the bees and hives since she was a young child.

Last week folks were looking for the honey sticks so stop by to see if they’re available. We know for sure there are jelly and jam samples and maybe something from the lamb or goat product too.

Are you interested in buying a lamb for your freezer?

It turns out there will be a supply of naturally raised live lamb available to buy here at the ranch next week. Lambs from Hounds River Farm, Hahira, Georgia are pasture raised without growth chemicals and antibiotics. You can purchase the lamb of your choice and we will deliver it to Johnston’s Meat Locker for processing to your specifications. We can help you make decisions about which cuts you want and size of packages. Contact us for details.

A Backyard Green House for Under $100

The Market at the Moon – actually the Lafayette Street Growers Market had a really neat demonstration last Thursday. Making a green house for under $100. A friend and I attended. Sorry I didn’t get photos – camera’s broke – but it was really impressive. So much so, I’m going to bring the project to our farm in January. It will be in conjunction with our local garden circle. Dr. Jennifer Taylor of FAMU is the local coordinator and we will be getting a lot more information out as the date gets closer.

The Haunted City – That’s us!

In 2003, ABC designated Monticello “the South’s most haunted small town.”  Monday, October 31, 2011  Anderson Cooper did a segment on haunted places and Monticello was featured prominently. What with the John Denham House built in 1872 and The Opera House built in 1890, he had a lot to talk about. Four of our local women represented us wonderfully in the interview by Anderson Cooper. This has put us on the map as a destination city. Come to town and enjoy the Ghost Tour. Monticello is a great place to visit. Ya’ll come now ya’ hear!
