Last week we had one of our annual visits from the 5 to 7 year old group of the Jefferson County 4-H program. Later this month the 8 to 10 year old children will be here. Fred always picks them up at the front of the drive in the hay wagon. Some of the children come every year. “Do you remember me?” was asked by several little girls this year. Of course we remember them.
Now how many children does it take to bottle feed a three week old lamb? As many as can get their hands in there to help. Sheila is our latest bottle baby and loves the attention.
Each year there are teens that have been with the program for many years that help chaperone. We’ve seen them as they mature and work around town through their high school years then one day go off to college. We are honored to be a small part of this and brag about the Jefferson County Extension Agency that runs this program. It is one of the best in the state.
