Thanks for my overnight camping Bobbie and Fred, the eggs I bought are delicious! 😎
What a great experience. We stayed one night on March 29th 2020 at a very interesting Golden Acres ranch. Social distancing was practiced and yet we were able to enjoy. Wonderful owners with a great tour of their property and were shown all the gardens and animals. Found the products in the country store to be very good. We really enjoy our first visit and stay at a Harvest Host farm. We sure hope to get back. Thank you for your hospitality.
February 29,2020, Arrived on a Saturday, afternoon, and we were, immediately, welcomed by Bobbie. She arrived in a golf cart, and had our overnight parking spot reserved. We took a very informative ride, giving us a overview of the ranch, the guard dogs, Great Pyrenees, who protect the goats and sheep from predators. We gave the dogs a treat and the goats and sheep a small feed. This is a real working, ranch and we got an in person education. My wife bottle feed two baby lambs the following morning. We purchased wool products, jam, and meats in the country store, which, had a good selection from Golden Acres Ranch, local artisans and venders. We had a great, great time with Bobbie and Fred. This was our first Harvest Host stay, and we did not want to leave. We hope to stop back, again.
What an absolutely wonderful visit. And what a huge farm. Plenty of spacious land for the animals to roam. It is so obvious that Bobbie and her husband love this life. I am thankful that they offered to share it with us.
Bobbie gave us a tour around the farm in her golf cart; believe me, there was no way to walk it. It was great feeding the baby goats; boy are those little guys strong. Thank you Bobbie. You have a wonderful farm there. Thank you for inviting us in.
This was our 1st overnight with Harvest Host and we were impressed. Bobby is a very gracious and conscientious host. The area had lots of rain for several days prior and she wanted us to feel comfortable before driving the camper onto the ground making sure we wouldnt get stuck. It was fine. She gave us plenty of time to get settled then she showed us around their farm. She let me feed the baby goat, and two baby lambs, which was another 1st for me! There is a country store with several local merchants goods for sale. We bought some of Bobbie's mayhaw jellies, goat soap, and a dozen of colorful eggs that Fred had just gathered . We can only hope that our future stays with other HH are as pleasant as this one was.
WOW..Bobbi and Fred were wonderful hosts. My husband and I were welcomed right from the beginning. We were taken on a tour of the beautiful property. We saw baby animals and I was even able to bottle feed a baby goat. We had a delicious breakfast of fresh eggs and sausage we bought from the country store. We will definitely be back. Thank you Bobbi and Fred for such a wonderful experience.
What a wonderful place to stay for people of all ages. The hosts are generous and run an amazing farm. Their various animals are so well taken care of in a natural environment where they can flourish. Everything about this place is A1.
We got a tour and learned so much, too much to share so my advice is - go visit!
And make sure to look in their Country Store for local Mayhaw products (the jelly is fantastic) and other local products.
My family and I would like to thank Ms. Bobbie for being a wonderful host. She gave us a private tour of all the different areas where they have the goats, sheep, chickens, miniature horse, and donkeys. Just to name a few. We felt right at home. I had the grand opportunity to assist on the feeding of the different animals. What a treat! Their dogs were very nice, even welcomed our own as I walked them on a leash. We learned many interesting facts on how a goat farm works and have not stopped talking about our experience sice. Thanks again for a great experience!
I loved our visit to Golden Acres Ranch we took our Mpact Club ages 4 and up. We had a great time and learned a lot about the animals. The Dogs were a once in a life time view. We ate lunch at the picnic tables and I shopped in the country store, bringing back a beautiful wool neck scarf and 2 different tasteful jelly's. Great afternoon stop over or family outing.
