Mark your calendar. This year’s Farm Tour runs the both Saturday and Sunday, October 25 and 26. Not all the farms are open both days. We are officially open on Saturday from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM. However, we’ll be around all day Sunday for anyone that show up. Probably still have the hay wagon going and the cute little critters in the petting pens – puppies this year.
Those of you that have been here in the past know we have local vendors and groups come here to hawk their wares. They add to the festivities. We know that Thor the Great Pyrenees will be here to help promote the local humane society and their thrift store. Jefferson County Extension with the 4-H kids come with the snow cone machine and the backyard cast fishing game. The Jed Dillard, our livestock and forage expert, always comes and shares his knowledge. The Camellia Garden Circle sells the Atlas Garden Gloves for fundraising for the 4-H and we are hoping our local high school FFA kids will be here.
We always have a good group of vendors with a nice variety and there is our country store where you can sample the Mayhaw, Blueberry and Pindo Palm Jelly. Hopefully there will be eggs, there is goat and a little lamb. There is also local honey and soaps. Also Mayhaw Berries are still available. There is plenty of parking so we hope to see you soon.
