I’ll be at Johnston’s Meat Market on Saturday, April 7 for the opening of the Jefferson County Artisans and Growers Market. It will be on Johnston’s Meat Market’s front porch in a rustic, old-fashioned market setting. The market will be open the first Saturday of each month.
We have plenty of duck and chicken eggs right now here at the ranch, and I will bring some to the market. I’ll have jelly samples too. Johnston’s has some goat on hand and it won’t be long before we have lamb again. There should be some other vendors on hand too.
This is a fundraiser for renovating the Old Jail House that will become a tourist attraction and museum here in Monticello. This old building has a reputation for being haunted!
Johnston’s is famous for its sausage and quality beef. Make an excursion out of it and come see what is happening in Monticello. Remember there are several nice places to eat and plenty of shops nearby.
