Mom put out the word for some clever names for our new Prescribed Grazing service. My brother Ken came up with some great ones! Here are some of my favorites.
- Goats for Grass
- Bad Grass Goats
- Kudzu Kids
- We B Goats
- Kudzu Killers
- Goat Mowers
- Bio-fueled Mowers
- Golden Goats Land Clearing
- Golden Goat Weed Eaters
- Goats + Kudzu = J (Huh? Talk to me, Ken. What does this mean?)
- Billy Goat Bramble
In the end, Mom decided to go with a name that came to her in the middle of the night, “Golden Girls.” Who remembers this sitcom?
This is a perfect name in so many ways. For one thing, we only use the adult females for this work. The males are too hard to handle and potentially smelly, especially for nearby suburbanites. And, too, besides the obvious use of “Golden,” we can really relate to a bunch of brazen, hard-working grannies and nannies, which describes many of these ewes and does.
